INavigati – Informed and Secure

Kicking off the cybersecurity awareness campaign for safe use of digital channels and tools!

On November 28th, CERTFin launches its first communication campaign, bringing together Banca d’Italia, ABI, Ivass, Banca Mediolanum, Banca Popolare del Lazio, Banca Sella, BPER Banca, Gruppo Cassa Centrale, Cassa di Ravenna, Credem, Generali, Gruppo Bancario Cooperativo Iccrea, ING, Intesa Sanpaolo, and UniCredit in a joint effort for cybersecurity.

Institutions and the banking and insurance sectors are increasing their commitment to cybersecurity, to prevent and counter attacks, and to protect customers from online fraud. An increasing number of Italian families are using digital channels via computers, tablets, and smartphones to make payments, check their accounts, invest, manage loans and mortgages, and subscribe to insurance policies.

The campaign's objective is to increase awareness and educate customers on the informed and secure use of digital tools and channels, to avoid falling into the traps set by those who exploit technology and leverage human vulnerabilities.

The campaign, which will be on air until the end of the year, features the “Navigati” family. Members of this family are cybersecurity experts because they have informed themselves and learned the best practices to navigate the potential pitfalls of the web, thereby reducing the risk of online attacks and fraud. Thanks to this knowledge, the web also becomes a familiar and protected space where one can browse safely.

Starting November 28th, the campaign can be followed on TV, radio, social media, web, and print. On the website inavigati.it, you can watch a web series dedicated to potential scams and find informative materials, interviews, and in-depth videos.

Simple rules to follow for safe online operations

  • use different and sufficiently long passwords, with alphanumeric and special characters;
  • access the Internet via your own devices, avoiding public and/or open networks;
  • install an antivirus and keep it constantly updated;
  • limit the sharing of your personal information online;
  • verify the sender's trustworthiness before opening any links and attachments;
  • in case of "suspicious" phone calls, verify the phone number online or compare it with your bank's official contacts. In any case, do not trust if banking details or other confidential data are requested;
  • if you think you have been a victim of a scam or have shared your banking or payment card details, contact your bank immediately.
